When trying to use squawkbox tonight, a message appeared and said that SB could not connect to multiplayer session. I have been using SB with no problem for 6 months and this message appears out of "nowhere." I am using FS9 with XP SP2 My linksys router is setup to the specs listed on the VATSIM PRC, as it has been working for 6 months. I tried to uninstall and then reinstall SB and still the same problem.
I am out of ideas, except for switching to FSInn. Any suggestions? Thanks!

are you running your internet connection thru a router? if so try this I had the same problem actually it happens maybe once or twice a month.......step 1 unplug the power cord to your router step 2 unplug the power to the modem wait 1 minute plug in the modem and let it do its thing for comcast modems about 30 seconds for dsl about 1 min...then plug the power to the router back...let the lights do there thing... now go to the pc and turn it on and try it out...make sure that the pc is off during all of this so that you dont get any conflicting ip addresses.. hope this helps

Thanks Tim, I have not tried that...but I will tonight and let you know.
Andrew, I can always count on you to help me out in the forums! The problem arises as I am loading SB....before I have a chance to click the connect button. If I get SB loaded, I have no problems thereafter.
Thanks again guys.

Are you trying to start SB before you are set in FS (at the gate, etc.)? Or even before you start Flight Sim? Try waiting until you are all set to go from the gate and see if that makes a difference.

It maybe a DirectX issue. Try downloading a program called " WinsockXP fix" I had similar issue. You can run a check of your direct x to find out.

Thank you all. After many reboots and even a 15 min play around with FSInn (which I found out I do not like), the problem turned out to be that I had uPnP enabled. After disabling it, everything with SB worked and I am now on my way to Mexico!
