Was looking around online and I have seen many solutions to the Frame rate problem for FSX. Of those who fly with FSX, is there a cure, that you would recommend, for those slow frame rates. When I fly in Atlanta I get around 8-13 FPS, looking to get those up to 20-30 FPS. My setting are on Medium High.

Everything seems to be fine, but you could upgrade your video card to something stronger.
A GeForce 8800GT would do the trick.

I have an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 2.33 GHZ. Settings are Medium, Autogen and Scenery density at Maximum, filtering Anisotropic, Anti-Aliasing enabled. With this I get 10-15 FPS while landing the PMDG747X/LDS767 for FSX in busy areas like Atlanta. I'm using Vista like you. But, 10-15 FPS are enough for me.
You can read about tweaking FSX at http://www.fsinsider.com/Pages/default.aspx You have to know some stuff before tweaking FSX, so be carefull.

I have the 8800GTS, and I love it.
I have a 1.8 GHz possessor,
400GB memory,
2GB Ram, and I run FSX with high- Max sliders, and still get 15-30 FPS.
I used to get the same Frames, before I got my 8800 GTS, maybe you should look into one.

Tom, I really can't believe that! Maybe I should look for that 8800GT. I have an ATI Radeon 3870, which is very good in my opinion.

Shouldn't you have Anti-Aliasing turned off in FS and let your video card do that Marius? Software AA kills frames.

Tom,
I also have the 8800GTS. I have an AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core Processor (not sure what this means but it also says 5000+) 2 GB Ram, 400 GB memory. I dont think that my video card is somehow utilized in FSX. I use EnHancer to try and get it to work with FSX and when I do I get memory errors and FS shuts down. But when I use AA in FSX I get pretty good AA but slow frame rates. Still working on it. Maybe one day I can get FSX up to speed.

Trevor, here's what FSX developers say on the FSInsider site:
"Current-generation video cards have settings for a number of features including filtering and anti-aliasing. Generally speaking, we recommend that you set these to "Application Controlled," and then enable their equivalents in FSX Settings."

Tom, I'm shocked. I have an 8800 GT and a 2.0 (dual-core) GhZ processor. 8-12 while just looking around in Atlanta.
Needless to say, I dumped FSX long ago.

You're not the the only one shocked. Tom, what Filtering and Anti-Aliasing do you have? Also, do you get 15-30 FPS using add-on or default aircraft?

I have a P6600x2 dual core proccessors with 9600ULTRA and 4gb or ram also 2 raptor drives on SATA RAID5 and I only get 15-30FPS with all on max. I went back to FS2004 cause it runs at like 150FPS even though the human eye can't see past about 60FPS I like absoulutly NO pausing with everything maxed. Unfortunatly we probobly won't see FSX performing well for another year or so. And imagine FSX with some addon scenery that would be a joke, like 5FPS.

It depends on where I am, sometimes in a HUGE airport (Eg: Alanta) I will get 10-15.
But that is rare.
also my traffic is at 2%
that seems to help.
