I thought I would take a moment to convey some praise to Terry and the staff for continuing to provide us with a virtual airline that I consider to be one of the crown jewels of the VA community. So instead of a gripe or complaint--which I'm sure management gets all too much of--I'd like to say thanks. I've been with DVA for a couple years now and also fly for (or flew for) several other VAs. As we all know there are some top notch VAs out there managed and staffed by dedicated and excellent folks. But DVA, in my opinion is superior. Here's one guy's thoughts:
1. Dedicated and visionary management. This is so critical to any organizations success.
2. Exceptional resources and tools whether it is ACARS, document library, website, or the Flight Academy, among others. Great stuff!
3. Flying has a purpose at DVA, and you truly have to earn your qualifications. No gimmes here.
4. Management is quick to keep the BS and the knucklehead behavior to a minimum (huge thing for me)
5. There is something to satisfy everyone's interest: numerous group events, aircraft, routes, and carriers to choose
6. Its a vibrant organization. Members and staff alike are active and things are always improving.
So, without getting too corny or melodramatic, I'd like to, again, say thanks to all the good folks who run DVA for a job well done!
A proud Delta Virtual left-seater.
