Well,
I was a die hard AMD fan, until I talked to a lot of folks on the C2D's and Q cores, So i took the plunge and started with a C2d 6850 then jumped to a Q6700 both run FSX quite well, Also I would consider to look at the DDR3 Boards if it is in your budget, and at least 3 gigs of DDR3, if that is out of the question then the X38 boards and 680i boards run FSX just nicely....
