I've been having cooling issues with my PC. I pulled the side off and have a fan blowing directly into the heart now - and my temps are fine. Last night I was cranking on FS - forgot that the fan wasn't on - and sure as the sun rises, the PC saved itself and shutdown on me due to temps.
I don't have the money right now to buy a new case - or invent something new - but I did do some research and found this article that is pretty cool - if you care about cooling your PC.

The 8800 Series cards run around 51 right out of the factory, the C2D's run around 35 at Idle not overclocked. the Quads run a tad warmer, I have had mine cranked to 4GHZ on a Q6700 couldnt get it to hold stable for more than 4 hrs, and that chip ran around 50 at that speed. Right now I am stable at 2.99 at 43 Idle and 54 Running FSX . Check the seat on that HS and reapply the TIM 35 is excellent if it holds like that on air

I keep a fan in my desk where the computer sits just to get some air flowing around the computer.
