I recently ordered a new laptop (hopefully it gets here by the end of next week ;)) and I'd like some opinions if possible:
Dell XPS M1530, Vista Business
Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz T8300
4 GB RAM 667 MHz
256 NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT
I know it will run FS9 like a dream (thank God), but what about FSX? The processor seems good enough, but what about the video card? I've heard that FSX takes/needs loads of power from a dedicated card to really run. I'm thinking about switching to FSX but am unsure. Any suggestions, comments? And what is this nHancer thing I have been hearing about?

You will probably run FSX, but not on higher settings, considering your card, and the fact that it's a laptop.
A GeForce 8800GT would do, but I'm not sure if you can get that inside a laptop.
But hey, as you said, FS9 will run great

Because most laptops are not designed to run very demanding games, it can easily overheat, pull a lot of power, etc... A desktop is always much more better for games (and more comfortable in my opinion).
Give FS9 a try, and if it runs at 30FPS solid on max settings, you could try FSX and see if you get good results, that's your best bet.
