I've been running FSX just fine. I saw there was a service pack out for it (2 actually, but I didn't think #2 applied to me, and I didn't want to limit myself to just playing with those who have the addon or SP2 >> http://www.fsinsider.com/downloads/Pages/flightsimulatorXServicePack2.aspx) So, after reading the description it sounded like it would be quite beneficial. So I installed it, restarted my computer, started FSX and it updated or did something with the sceneries and the databases, then went away. So I restarted, started up FSX again, it give me the normal splash start-up screen with the hourglass for a mouse pointer, and then goes away. That's it. Nothing
So, I uninstall and reinstall (which happens to take what seemed like the better part of an hour). This time I decided it would work fine without SP1, since I had been using it before. I triend it out and verified it worked like before. So I went and installed the DVA aircraft for FSX (B757, BAE-146, CRJ, EMB-120) for the first time, since I am brand new to DVA today. Then when I tried to start it, I got some memory read error and not even the start up screen would show up. So I tried SP1 again, and it did the same thing before. Any ideas why I can't get FSX to start up after installing SP1, and why I would be getting a memory error after installing those DVA aircraft?
I am running Windows XP Media Center SP2, I have an nVidia XFX 8800 GT XXX card.
