Does anyone think DVA should or could break into the helicopter simulations with DL's codeshare w/ US Helicopter. They have daily flights between JFK, EWR, Manhattan and BDR using the Sikorsky 76.

I think choppers will be a unique addition to DVA with US Helicopter's codeshares.

Issue #2306. There are a number of policy and technical issues behind adding helicopters. On the technical side, I need to update ACARS to handle helicopters, and we'll need to add an S-76 installer. On the policy side, we need to figure out where to slot them.
Cheers!

Choppers aren't a bad idea, but its not common of airlines to have helicopters in their fleet.

Helicopters would be nice but can you make fixed schedules with them? I'd rather fly planes than helicopters on fixed routes

There are already fixed helicopter routes in the schedule I receive from Delta - my guess is that helo operations would only be authorized on those routes, and nothing else.
Cheers!

I know this is an old thread, but I feel this announcement was relevant to this topic. It seems as though US Helicopter is in financial trouble and has suspended operations for approx 60 days. Delta as a result has terminated the codeshare with them. This would have been a nice addition to DVA, but sadly the opportunity has passed. Perhaps if they get stabilized DL will codeshare with them again.

As a retired Army helicopter pilot, I think they would be a great addition to DVA. I occassionaly dable in them on FS but not too much.

I agree, helicopters would be a great addition to the DVA fleet, like you can give the helicopters airline names like Delta or Northwest. I would fly a helicopter instead of a plane sometime, but not all the time, but yeah it would be great if it was added. I would then definitely download it, so I can add it to my fleet. It would be pretty interesting.

The company that was working with Delta Airlines was US Helicopter and they would make runs from Midtown Manhattan to KEWR, KJFK, KLGA.

Green Baron going Weed-Eater? Talk about wake turbulence & low level contrails!
If it were up to me, it would be Bell-222's with the trike landing gear...
