Hi everyone.
I need your help, since yesterday, im having some scenery problems. I continuesly see these white boxxes (like building shaped) in the middle of nowhere appearing and disappearing.. This seems to happen with default fs scenery. I tried flying in KSLC, KTVY and MMUN and they just keep apperaing and dissapearing. Hope the pictures work...
Suggestions please!?
Thanks
Cheers

I thought the white boxes on the first set were sheep What version of MSFS are you using?

If they keep appearing and disappearing it could be just a rendering problem, try reducing the settings and see if that helps.

Looks like you're missing tree textures and maybe some buildings. If that is default FS2004 stuff, you can try grabbing your CDs and digging through the cab files to find the \texture folder, and re-copy everything over.

I tried looking throuh the discs, but i only show some kind of winzip file which cannoth be opened (all of them labeld MSGAME(and a number).
The strange thing is that it just happened yesterday. I installed the SLC scenery for the flight academy and the new FlyMex scenery for Mexican airports (both of them removed to see if they where the problem) Maybe some files where deleted while doing this? I dont know....
Could I reinstall FS over its original file? instead of uninstalling an installing again. This way I dont have to reinstall all of the add ons, I would then only reinstall the scenery ones..
I think we all know what installing FS again means (in terms of settings, time and adjustments...its a flightsimmers WORST NIGHTMARE).
MAybe its just a sign for me to upgrade to FSX....

Don't reinstall FS over itself. Very bad juju will befall you if you try. Uninstall and then reinstall.

Isidoro,
If you reinstall FS over itself, it will still disable all of your addons and scenery, etc. For the time that it would take you to reinitiate all of these items, you would be better suited to:
1. Uninstall FS
2. Make a backup copy of the remaining files and folders after the uninstall. Preferrably onto a disk or flash stick, etc.(C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9)
3. Delete the remaining files and folders after back up.
4. Delete the remnants of C:\My Documents\Flight Simulator Files.
5. Run several passes of your favorite defrag program. If you have a consoldation mode in your program, use that.
6. Reinstall FS clean.
7. Reinstall your addons one by one and make sure you capture which installation may be causing your texture issue.
You may ask why make back ups of your remnant fies and folders if you're going to make a clean reinstall? This is just in case. Nothing more. I would also take the time to re-evaluate just how much junk I really need in my FS. Whatever you decide you do not absolutely need, then leave it off.
One more thing, get into the habit of making restore points before you install new sceneries and aircraft into FS. Again, this is for these just in case purposes.
I personally have abandoned the slew of addon sceneries in favor of getting quality aircraft into my sim. When compared to what the real world sims offer in terms of scenery, I think we have it good enough in FS.
Hope this helps and good luck. Email me if you need help with anything.
Cheers.

Ill do just that Kenneth. Thanks for the support.
As you said, its always good to clean up your flight simulator and get rid of all the junk that you where testing to fly and really just adds into fs performance.
Always good to do a clean start....

Kenneth.
Ive been doing exactly what you said and its been going just fine.
Ive installed all of (or most of) my add on sceneries first and Ive tried them and they seem to be working perfectly.
Im getting an error though, after installing PSS777 (from just flight).
I run FS fine, choose the aircraft and when i exit fs, i get the following error.
Instruction in “0x4ebe5846” does reference to memory in “0x4ebe5846” Memory cannot be read
Click accept to end this program
Click cancel to "depurate"
(imn sorry, the error is in spanish)
Any thoughts?

Depurate would be 'Debug' I belive. I've gotten this in Internet Explorer when I was low on Virtual Memory. If you click 'Depurate' (Debug) does it close the window?

yes. It just closes the window. I forgot to mention the title of this window is GDI+ fs9.exe/ windows
I installed pmdg 747 and I did not get the message.
I also replaced the fs9.efe with the nocd efe. And patched it. I have insalled over 20 programs now, tryin each one by one to make sure they got installed ok before procesing to the next one. Igor stopped at justflight 777, skipped it an agent for PMDG
Sorry for the spelling, i'm in my mobile device
Thanks.
Cheers

Isidoro, what version of FSUIPC are you running and is it registered?
Get rid of that NoCD patch. I hate it and it causes problems with FSUIPC. I had your exact same problem after installing the NoCD patch with FSUIPC v3.80 or later. I know that most people don't like to have the CD in the bay to start FS, but you can always remove it once you start the sim.
This is just my opinion. My gamer has three CD/DVD bays now so keeping disc 4 in is not a problem. I actually prefer it this way as that is how FS was meant to run.
That memory reference error you are getting is caused by a clash between FSUIPC and the NoCD patch. I had a long conversation with Pete Dowson about this very thing.
Cheers!

Kenneth.
I have the latest version (downloaded it yesterday) and its registered.
I have no problem getting rid of the nocd exe, but I think the exe that comes with the discs cannot be patched with the 4GB program. Its really no trouble for me as well to insert or leave the CD in my system and just start fs9.
http://ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php
and the reason I did this patch is because I was always getting a OOM message when flying long hauls after more than 8 hours of flight
http://www.deltava.org/thread.do?id=0xf4b3
So, Im in kind of a dilemma...
