Ok Last weekend I was out of town for a couple of days. Before I felt, I wanted to make sure that the computer was shut down, but it was already off. (Maybe someone in my family did it of it turned off by itself) So when I got back home I turn on my PC and it boots up but it doesnt go as far as user login but istead I get a blue screen, which say;
A Problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer.
....
Check to make sure any new hardware or sodtware is properly installed...
....
Technical information:
**Stop: 0x0000C1f5 (0x00000000,0x00000000,0x00000000,0x00000000)
I tried the key to go into system recovery, but it does do anything. And that is the same with the F8 key, when the blue screen tells me to use to go into safemode.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks

I had a similar problem with the blue screen. I have a XPS720 and my problem was with the video card/drivers. Dell sent me a new NVIDIA 8800GT 512 MB and updated drivers. Problems solved. My blue screen would come up during running of computer.

Ummm yeah I also ordered a recovery disk from HP. I have been looking around on google and came up with reseting the HHD and the RAM... lets see.

Hey Captain, did you overclock your computer? Certain FSB overclock configuration will cause a computer to crash.
Another way for that blue screen to pop up is the temperature of the CPU gets too high, it will cause the computer to go into automatic shut down mode. GOod luck.

No I didn't overclock, yet. But I am about to. lol
Actually it's fixed now. What I had to do was wipe the whole hardrive, using Wpiedrive software. Then thats it, just run the recovery disc and there you go. I do have to install EVERYTHING again but its gonna be worth it i think. I did that after a couple of weeks of trying many things from many websites like mircrosoft and other forums.
Thanks for the input though, really appreciate it!

When you have everything up and running I recommend creating a restore point. This is like a "snapshot" of your computer so if you ever have a problem it will convert to that point in the past. This way you won't have to install a million things again.
You can do this by going to
Start-->All Programs-->Accesories-->System Tools-->System Restore
It's quick and it doesn't hurt to try it.
