hi guys
running windows vista64 premium with an intelcore2 duo E800 3ghz, 4GB ram and NVIDIA GEFORCE GTS 512 graphics card. running flightsim 2004 and fps are amazing however i like to fly in window view so i have all the tabs available at the top of the screen, only problem is im getting some bad shimmering and blurry textures,
when i go to full screen it is really smooth and very nice, would really like to get it to be this smooth with window view, any ideas, ive got the nvidia control panel and everything is set to high so you would think it would be ok. never had any issues before in window view with ATI graphics card.
any ideas would be greatly appreciated as always or if you have had similar probs to let me no how you fixed it, its really annoying me lol.
thanks

I have come to the conclusion that FS doesn't like NVIDIA and vice versa. I have to run FS in window view, or it will freeze. And even in window view, if I switch to another application, The screen in FS will freeze. When that happens, I have to minimize the screen and then bring it back up and everything is running again. I have googled the issue, and you would be amazed with how many thousands of issues and support threads that read exactly like yours does. BTW, I have pretty much the same setup as you, except I have dual AMD Turion processors an an NVIDIA GeForce 7150

Hmm. i have nvidia cards and nothing is wrong for me... it could be the fact that if you just installed the latest drivers, and you're using old gfx cards, they might not be 100% compatible with each other, causing these blips. Other things are hardware compatibility problems, and sometimes is just overheating. if thats not it make sure that the drivers are actually the latest.

I have an nvidia 7950GT and my latest problem seems to be a driver issue with the latest driver. Up to now I had no problems with frame rates and anti-aliasing. However, since installing the latest driver I cannot get the card to do antialiasing or filtering at all. I have to do it through FS2004 internal settings. This has hurt my frame rates and the only solution I can think of is maybe going back to older driver versions.
