Nikolay,
I was originally going to get a Q9550, however I found a an awesome deal on a Q9400 so I will probably go with it.

unless your planning on sli in the future the 780i is kinda useless. if you want to run 1 8800Ultra you dont need 3 PCI-e 2.0 x16 you dont even need PCI-e 2.0 because the Ultra is just a 16x card

Eric, go for a P35/P43/P45/x38/x48 board instead. They are a bit faster with ram than the nvidia boards. Also those 7 series boards have video playback issues(if you're into video editing - or watching a whole bunch of things at the same time).
Eric, what kinda deal did you get for that Q9400 as I'm thinking of grabbing a Q9550.

run on what?
Eric, another thing, you don't have to get quite as big a psu if you're not going SLI. The power requirement for the Ultra says 450 Watts, but I would grab anything around 550+ if you plan on overclocking at all.

Well, Let me help you out since I have gone to school for this and have actually got done building a Simulator for Jerry Atkins CEO/Owner Skywest Airlines. First off. Why the 64bit version of vista? It is still way to buggy. on top of that you shouldnt need it because 64bit versions are meant to recognize more than 4 gigs of RAM. Unless you are planning on playing other games that are 64bit. Remember that more RAM does not always make your system better. It all depends on the speed. Make sure to look at the mother board specs and see what the fastest speed it can handle. As for the quad core. Yes, Fsx can use it all. However that also does not mean that the QUAD core is better than the Dual Core. Infact most Quad Cores are still Slower. The reason behind this is because windows still does not have an update that uses certain instruction sets to use the full potential of it. I would stick to the most power full core 2 duo that you can afford. Also, I like your graphics card. Make sure that your power supply supports the extra power plugin for that card. Please Note that if you use a 550 PSU than you will have a garbage of a computer with your hardware. you motherboard takes power, cpu takes power, HDD takes power. it all takes power. Also remember that you hardrive also has to do with speed. try to get one that supports SATA. Make sure the the RPM is atleast 7500(slower) I like the 10000RPM. Its a beast. Try to see if you can find a motherboard that supports the ddr3 ram. that will juice that computer up by a ton.! Have fun! Sorry I came off a little caucky I just hate it when people give the wrong advise. And no everyone did a good job so far on this forum.

You dont need to find a motherboard with DDR3 Compatibility to run any games you want on it currently. If your into 3d rendering and stuff sure, but if its gaming, shave off a couple hundred dollars and stick with DDR2. But yes make sure to get SATA, as IDE is growing old, and soon to be ancient. Dual Core may be faster true, but only buy the quad cores if your wanting to take advantage of ALL 4 processors. if not, stick with dual core.
