I have been having some problems with SB4. All of my problems occur while using the DVA ACARS program or VAFS with SB4. Whenever I minimize my screen (with ACARS/VAFS and SB4 running) while in flight to search up a new SID, STAR, etc..., FSX won't pull back up. I get a black screen. I can hear the noise and I can still communicate via SB4, but I can't see anything. If I press the escape key then the FSX menu will pop up, but when I click "Continue Flight" it goes back to a black screen. If I minimize my screen before SB4 starts up I don't have this problem. Does anyone have any solutions for my problem?
Thanks,
Mike

You need to press ALT-ENTER and get out of full screen mode.

So I would have to do my entire flight out of full screen mode? I was thinking about getting FSCommander, but I don't want to get it if I can use it with VATSIM.

No, I think what Andrew is suggesting is that rather than minimizing your FSX screen use ALT+ENTER to get in and out of full screen mode (or at least give it a try)
Thus, once you have finished doing what you want in ACARS etc you can ALT+ENTER to make FSX full screen again

I will try that when I get home. If I turn pause on task off, will that keep running FSX if I click on ACARS or FSC?

I had the same problem michael, try changing views (like hit the F11 or F9 key). That seemed to help for me when that happened. But now I run in windowed mode because my frames are about twice as high, and I don't have to minimize to look at charts or anything else.

I had thought for a long time that I was the only one who had this problem. Thanks everyone for the help.

I have an update for everyone. I used the ALT + Enter combo that you told me about. It works great. I can finally get rid of the part in my VATSIM comments area the says "No charts on board". Thanks for all the help.
