I found this at the Bombardier Website:
Maximum Range...............CRJ-700 =1,939 miles
CRJ-900 =1.837 miles
So,now i can fly again from KMKE - KLAX,just substitute whatever the plane is,for the CRJ-700 or EMB-170.I believe the range between those 2 cities,is 1754 miles,so i'll have a reserve in one for 165-175 miles..

When aircraft companies list maximum ranges, these are arrived at by formulas using still air, no wind, standard day, 59 degree and 29.92 hg and no payload, basic operating empty weight including crew.

well,i know with a 70% load, and the fuel to get there,i can (and have) flown a CRJ-700 from KLAX,up to FL280,and landed at KORD with enough fuel to deviate to Milwaukee if i had to...
when i'm dinking around off of DVA,i use the L-1011..I got a chance to go thru the Palmdale,Ca plant in 1973
TWA,Eastern L-1011's were in process of being built..

Can also spell for disaster. W/RJs on runs of long stage lengths, weight is usually not an issue. Fuel becomes an issue when the flights arent THAT long, yet the bag bin is bulked out at their carrying 50/70 or 86 passengers respectively. They may get to their destinaton above maximum landing weight, thus you will see them flying at lower altitudes for this particular reason which some ppl may not understand (I love RJs ).
As an aside, Delta us to run CR7s from Atlanta to St. Croix which is in excess of 1600 miles. Of course according to BBD, this is well about their max range, but Delta only allowed bokings on the flight to 64 pax.
