I have had no problems out of this computer for the last year. What happened? If anyone can shed light as to what is wrong with the graphics here, it would be greatly appreciated. Let me also add by saying, I don't think it could be the video card because of the fact that I have been using the same one for awhile now.

Ok sir. Thank you so much for your input. One more question before I get to it. How would I go about that process?

Usually you can go to the website of whoever makes your video card and they will have a drivers download area. Find your card, then it will be a file you download
does it always do this, or just after a while when you're flying?

It is a continuous problem from start up to shut down. I really don't know what my video card is. It came with the computer. As you can tell I'm not very computer oriented. I just got it for the simulator to improve my IMC skills when I don't have the money to go flying in real life.

Mine just did it for the first time yesterday or the day before, but WAYYYYY worse. Has it always been doing this or is it recent? and does it do it with any other 3-D programs? Also, how new is your computer, and what brand?

It's about a year old and it's a Compaq Presario. Yes it also does this with other 3D programs such as Google Earth.

First of all, is your computer overheating? Secondly, what type of Presario is it? Thirdly, run a DXDIAG in the command prompt to figure out some basic specs, lastly, download nView Manager or something like that, it monitors gfx card temperature, memory, HDD, CPU usage %. run that while your playing and create a benchmark spreadsheet. Keep it always on top to see whats goin on. This problem is largely due to either 2 things, Overheating of your system, or outdated video card drivers.
To update your video card drivers, first download any trusted driver removing program. Wish i had names, sorry . but before you uninstall the drivers, make sure you download the latest set. Then run the driver cleaner but only for the GFX card drivers. NOTHING ELSE. after, itll prompt you for a reboot. Do it. After everything should look like 800x640 resolution. Dont panic. Click on the downloaded drivers (the new ones) and follow the instructions, which should be just pressing NEXT. After itll prompt you for another reboot. Reboot and you should now have updated video drivers. Run any 3D program and see if any improvements come out of it. If not, don't panic, you can go into Device Manager which is the Control Panel > System > Hardware Tab > Device Manager. Go to Display Adapter, click on the extension icon, right click on your gfx card, go to properties, then go to driver, then you can uninstall the drivers again or just click Rollback drivers. I dont know if either has any difference but this is the procedure to go back to your previously installed drivers, so that you're back to step 1.
If all else fails, you can either go to a Computer depot near you and ask for a reformat, or you can do it yourself with the help of one of your friends who has reformatted knowledge. Keeping in mind that you kept all the CDs that came with your Presario such as Motherboard drivers, etc.
