2 or 3 of my last flights are marked with "refuling inflight detected." That sounds really bad. But truth is, FS9 needed to be reseted. Hence, it started a bit before the point I left the Sim. Result: more fuel.... I've opened the fuel tab in FS9 but never changed something. - Yesterday, e.g. I needed to check Gross Weight again in order to figure out if we are above oder below 255,000lbs. (callsign and SID/STAR -> Heavy or not).
However, I assume there is no way to differ between a needed reset and an intended fuel increase.

If the pilot files an ACARS report, I look at the excel data to see when he added fuel. If the refuelling is in flight, that is a No-No. If the refuelling is on the ground before takeoff, then I think that the flight should be approved and do so. You can always land short of your destination for refuelling and put a note in your flight report to say that the flight was cut short for refuelling and then you can fly the rest of the flight on another flight report (again with a comment in the flight report to show completion of the original flight. You will get credit for the original entire flight but not the short refuelling flight so your logbook shows only the original flight. If there are any further questions about policy, simply email your chief pilot for clarification.
