My specs are:
Intel Pentium 4 3GHz
1 Gb RAM
ATI Radeon X1550 graphics card
when im in FS but particularly when landing, i get at most 2 frames, in cruise and on the ground i get what ever i have locked it at (all of these are in cockpit view, its worse in spot)
so i was wondering if anyone could advise me on any individual components to buy to make FS run more smoothly? (except RAM, im going to get some more at the weekend)
Thanks
and PS i dont want a new computer as ive hardly had this for a year.

It would actually help if you would do some research and find out what motherboard you have.

Your system should be running FS9 much better than you are getting with your current configuration. Some items are to check. In the FS2004 display options under hardware what video card setting and screen resoultion are you using. Also, check for the latest driver for your video card.

Well, I have done computer work for years... and it sounds like to me that you have something using up you RAM space in the background. so what you want to do is bring up the task manager to see what is taking it all. fs9 should at max be taking only like 250 mb. and I like the x1550 its a good card. So make sure you check that. cause a gig of ram should easily take care of it all though 2 gigs is normal to have now. Hope that helps let us know! Cheers!

Also, traffic settings will have an impact on frame rates. I notice a lot of ground traffic on your screen shots that also can also have an adverse effect. Try putting traffic on 0% and see if you get any change.

Did you install any programs or scenery that could have caused the slow down?
As far as startup items go to download.com and download a program called advanced windows care personal (do a search). Install and run it, it will go through and optimize your system. Then select Tools -> Startup Manager and deselect everything that you don't need, then restart you computer and see if that helps at all.
