Hey guys. I was thinking about adding another monitor to my computer (I only have one at the moment and its a 20"). What is a good configuration for adding a monitor to the computer so that I can run FSX and maybe have gauges on one screen and an outside view on the other. Should I try and but the new monitor below my current one or on top? Or should I put them side by side. Also, do you think it would be better to just run FSX on one monitor and have other apps on the other on, such as ACARS or something?
Also, do somewhat older (by older I mean like 2-3 years) and not as high-end NVIDIA graphics cards have dual monitor capabilities and if so do they run dual monitors using FSX smoothly?
Thanks for yall's suggestions.

I have dual monitors. In FS9 I used them both for views with no trouble at all. It was cool being able to see out my left side window. There's no way I could do this in FSX. The frame rates just plummet. Now I use the second monitor for the different panels (overhead, fmc, throttle etc) and charts and all my other programs. My computer is about 2 years old. (NVIDIA 9800 GTS, Dual Core 2.4 ghz, 4 GB memory)
I just bought a new computer which should be arriving in just over a week. I plan to try it again and see if I get better results. Id still rateh have one monitor at 30+ FPS than two at 10 FPS

Noah, does using two monitors for FSX alone what slows it down, or does it slow down even if you are only using one monitor for FSX itself and using the other for charts n stuff?
