Yo dudes
Lately my FSX has been acting up. The weather is acting strange. The TAS reading in my B737 (stock with Delta repaint from simviation.com) get really jumpy. It is at 35 kts lets say, and it will jump up to like 40 kts then back down to 35 really fast and it does this like every second or maybe 2 times a second. It is really screwing with my speed and my plane just gets real jumpy.
Just wondering if any of yall have ever had this problem.
Thanks.

That is normal - especially with winds while on the ground. Even airborne that can happen - ensure that you have your Pitot Heat turned on if there is any visable moisture (ie. clouds). This can affect airspeed indications and would be bad while in flight.

Well, I guess I'll try it. It seems to me though that it is coming more from a glitch/bug in FSX but I don't know. As I said, I'll try it and I'll let you know my results.

Not sure then. I've had FSX pretty much since it came out - and the only times I've experienced anything similar is when I screw around with making the Wx really windy, and you can see it (aspd) fluctuate on the ground as you turn while taxiing. Or while airborne, if you use stock Wx from Jeppesen and 15 minute updates - the winds can shift on you, creating a slight change in aspd.

Yea I put on the Pitot Heat and it helped a little bit. I'm having my friend from ZHU help me out now. This thing isn't a HUGE problem, it's just REALLY annoying. haha

I actually have this problem too. I'm using ASX and it is separate from the wind shift issue that occurs at cruise altitude changing from one wx area to another. Like the original poster says, it is VERY rapid shifts (like 2-3 shifts per second) of anywhere to 20-50 kts at a time. It causes havoc with autothrottle. The autothrottle isn't fast enough to keep up with how fast the wind shifts so it will suddenly accelerate to gain back the altitude, but the then wind shifts back and now I'm overspeed on flaps, which causes them to retract automatically, which is just a horribly annoying cycle.
The other thing is I will actually see occasional shifts of more than 100kts.
On my last flight I got so mad because at about 3,000 feet my IAS went from about 180 to 70 instantly and you can guess what happened. I just barely built my airspeed and pulled out of the dive at maybe 500 feet.
It's definately a bug, but I have no idea if it's a bug with FSX, or ASX or what.
