Whenever i go to start a new flight the start up image is the cockpit and an image of like an approach of a runway...it is really wierd and flight simulator will not work...i try to switch views and it will nto do anything...i go to do ctrl-atl-delete and it says flight simulator x is not responding...please help if you can...i really miss flying my MD-88

Try re-installing FSX. I also see that you have a GeForce 4800. FSX is a pretty big program, and its not really "frame rate friendly."I would suggest getting a new graphics card, or one more gig of RAM depending on how many RAM slots you have in your computer. You should also use FSX on a lower graphics setting, if it runs laggy like that.
P.S: You can also visit the Microsoft support website, or call their support number :-)

thanks...this just started today...its soo wierd and im not liking it haha...and i usually run it on a pretty high graphics setting and the frame rate was perfect...but i sent something to Microsoft about the problem so im hoping they will get back to me

I had the same problem with FSX locking up and not responding.
Deleting the logbook.bin file eliminated the problem. I'm not sure what happens but it get corrupted somehow.
The file should be in your documents folder.
