I recently purchased the Saitek Yoke and throttle. I also have a registered version of FSUIPC. Most of my flying is done with the PMDG 737 on FS9 and I want to program the buttons on the throttle quadrant but have been unable to get them to work in FS9 for the autopilot master and autothrottle master. I successfully programmed the throttles, reversers and I use the 3rd lever as the spoilers. Those all work great. I have tried to program the buttons on the quadrant with FSUIPC and thru the FS9 settings with no success. I would like to be able to turn the autopilot and autothrottle with the quadrant. If anyone knows how to do it please let me know. Thanks!!

I haven't used PMDG's 737 for sometimes now, but isn't their a way to do that via the PMDG menu?

Michael, thanks for the response, I checked to see if that was possible and you can only program keyboard commands thru the PMDG menu.

Program a keyboard command via PMDG first, then program FSUIPC to emulate a simple keyboard press for that same button .... maybe that will work.

John...I programmed the 3rd lever as a spoiler in FS9 under controls. I went under options, controls joystick axis. I clicked on the spoilers, moved the 3rd lever and it was assigned. I then went into sensitivities and moved the sensitivity of the spoilers all the way up and clicked on reverse. That's how I did it. I love being able to use the 3rd lever for the spoilers! I downloaded the Saitek programming software and I thought it was only for assigning keyboard commands. Let me know if programming the spoilers the way I did works for you and if you have any tips on working with the programming software let me know, I am a little intimidated by it.

I just received the Saitek pro flight yoke system, and I have been noticing that the gear retracts by itself after takeoff, and on the CRJ900 the gear will retract just before landing. I know this is not about the throttle thread, but has anyone else seen this happen with their Saitek yoke system/throttle, and what did you find to help.
Thanks for any help.

Mark, you know about the button that is on the yoke, it is right under where your right thumb would be(i believe it is button/switch C2), if you move that to your left, the landing gear changes position, are you sure you aren't pressing that on accident? Other than that, i don't know what might be the problem

John...did you get the 3rd lever programmed for the spoilers?
Mark, I would go into the settings/controls/assignments and make sure there is only one button programmed for the gears. I have noticed with mine that there can be more than one button on the yoke that will control the same thing.

Eric, I have everything programed via fsuipc. What I used to program some of the controls in the PMDG 737 as well as the other aircraft is in the fsuipc menu. This is the only way that I have found to be successful with assigning the autopilot disconnect as well as setting toga button. What I used was to create a macro, this is explained in the advanced user guide for fsuipc. It is a rather simple procedure. I would suggest looking at it and if you want me to walk you through it I would be glad to help

someone should make a nice docuemnt for programming yokes with FSuipc.. i would buy if i could be convinced of the advantage. I use the PMDG menu and FS to config my pedals and yoke and throttle.. works for me.. but.. that other way may be better i hear.

Eric, I tried it out and it somewhat worked, on the PMDG 737-800 the spoilers would only come about halfway up. Have you gotten your problem fixed yet?

John, do you have your sensitivity all the way up on the spoilers and did you click the reverse box under assignments? I reprogrammed mine today and it works. I have been trying to program the autopilot and autothrottle with no luck using the FSUIPC. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

I tried that Eric, but the only problem i have is that once they are up i have to hit / on the keyboard to put them back down. so i use the buttons on the throttle quadrant. Is that what you are trying to do for the autopilot and autothrottle?

Yes, I have been trying to program the buttons on the throttle quadrant for autopilot and autothrottle with no luck. I can program them for gear and other things but no the ap and throttle for some reason.

I have the Saitek Yoke+Throttle running FSX and I programmed the T2 and T4 for AP and A/THR respectively, on fsx (it should be close to what it is on fs9) You can go Settings->Controls->Buttons/Keys and scroll down to autopilot master (on/off) click it, new assignment then the button on your throttle. Same thing for the A/THR, the command is autothrottle arm, and do the same thing.
Cheers
Also, Does anyone know a good website for charts (like the color ones) I tried the free trial for navigraphs program but it is so expensive after a while.

Hey all.. As far as the "landing gear glitch" I read somewhere that it's just a bug in the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke system.. I found that if I just leave my landing gear set to the keyboard "G" that I have no problems with it activating on it's own. I set a switch on my yoke for my heading bug but I can't seem to find a way to set the alitude bug on the yoke so I don't have to use the mouse and click on the bug dial on the panel.. Any ideas..?
