First, I'm sorry for asking so many questions. And don't worry, I read all of the reading. By the way, the manuals and other reading are greatly written! I think you get what I mean.
Anyway, I understand that you guy by a leg system for promotions. My question about this is: do hours count, and will it count if I am flying in other aircraft that are not in my program?
Thanks,
Ruben

As long as you fly an aircraft you are rated for, the hours will count. However, for hours to count for promotion, it needs to be done in the program you are in.

Simply answer .. no ... hours don't count for promotion .. legs counts, for example you're a 757 F/O if you want to take the 757 Captain exam you need 10 flights / legs using the 757, after your 10th 757 PIREP is approved the system will let you take the 757 Captain written exam.

Our VA was created on a philosophy promoting skillful flying rather than long hours. I encourage you to read our Pilot Manual in the document library that explains all of this.

Anyway, another question. I think that it's great that you go by legs, but is it true that if you fly an airplane that is not in your program (example: I'm in 757, but can fly the crj's), it won't count for anything?

So wait. I can be spending my time on long flights from lets say KATL to KSFO, I would get a good review of sids stars in route, etc.; but someone else could bypass me by doing fifteen quick lets in the time of my one. And also, as a virtual pilot, it would be nice if I could fly all the great aircrafts the flight simulator has to offer (for a reason). I think we all fly for a virtual airline because we want out time to go towards something.

I guess it doesn't, but I really just want to fly all my ratings for a reason. I want to be able to fly the emb120 and it count almost as much as me flying a 757.
Thanks,

FWIW, I've been ribbed because I'm making the ATL-RDU shuttle runs in my 744. For me, I really do enjoy flying the Queen and the 20 or so minutes in cruise is perfect as I much prefer the going up and down bits, especially the landings. With that, the only stat I'm concerned with is the delta between my average landing speeds!
Cheers!!
