Have you read the manual pages on 139-151 in the Flight1 Dreamfleet 727 AOM? The AIL and Elev switches toggle on and off the autopilot on the AP panel. The mode selector dial switch selects if you want to track the NAV(VOR) or LOC tuned on NAV1 and the toggle switches to far right allow you to hold altitude or follow the heading selected on the HSI.

I was scrolling though the messages here an have been wondering something for a long time. I personally LOVE the 727, I think it is one of the best aircraft ever made still to this date. The sound of the engines, smell of jet fuel running throught the cabin is just priceless. But my question, I have been looking at paying for a 727 and have found two different ones. I have looked at some random forums and noticed the Capt Speaking ( I think that is what the other one is) does not have a panel from what I read. I hear it is a great visual model though. So I was jsut wondering which version do you guys like of those of you who have it? Is it pretty realisitc?

The best model is definitely the Dreamfleet 727. Almost all the systems are modeled, and flies like a charm by hand. The Autopilot is a great rendition of the real thing, and you can add a freeware Inertial Navigation System to the 727 to make it even more complex.
The Captain Sim outside model is awesome, but that's it. DO NOT buy it.
We'll be happy to have you on board the 727 Program, Kyle, and welcome to DVA... sort of...

I would really enjoy going over to the 727... It is my main aircraft I fly in FS. As a joke I tell myself "If I win the lotto that is one of the things I would buy" and that being a 727. I have been looking to buy another plane for a long time but this would be a slightly bigger buy than my other 2 aircraft. I think I have found one too. Not sure if you know a lot about the real 727s or not but if your are anything like me you probably do and always want to know more about it. I found a 727-100 ( the last one built) and it has the -200 wings, landing gear, fuel tanks and pressurization system and only around 12000 hrs which is a steal and only for a cool 4ish million I believe. If that big lotto came into my hands that is one of the things on my list for sure, heck maybe even another one just for the spare parts ha ha.
Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of planes such as the 57/67 I fly in DVA now, I like the MD80s and all that other great jazz, but if you had me pick one it would by far be the 727. SO if you would be able to work a little magic to squeeze me into the 727 program that would be awesome.
Dreemfleet it is then! I have watched a few videos on the INS but what does the dreamfleet version come with as far as nav aids? I also assume it is like the real aircraft that has not auto throttles? What are your likes and dislikes about the dreemfleet version? Does it only come as a download or can you purchase a CD?
Thanks for the help.

Hi Kyle, welcome to DVA!
You may join the 727 program after you take the First Officer's exam, approve it, and then take the Checkride and pass it. The process is explained in the Promotions Manual, available in the Document Library.
The DF 727 can be downloaded or bought on CD. Either one of these are available at Flight1.com
The plane comes with basic NAV aids. That's VOR and NDB systems in the "Original" version, as well as AUX NAV (you enter a route in the default GPS and the plane follows it). Dreamfleet also included a Glass Cockpit, which I don't really like.
The INS can be added as a freeware module available at AVSIM.
You'll love it. It's a must have for every 727 out there

I had several hundred hours at one time, some logged on here but spent over 1300 hrs at UPS flying the 757. The hours on here seem to go away after you go inactive even after a week, so I lost all my hours I had on here and from UPS.
