from what I have read in the UK Computer press, between the new PhenomII and the Q6600 they would go with the Q6600 everytime.
Considering the Q6600 is 2 years old now, in benchmarks it was marginally slower that the new phemonII but is significantly more overclockable making it the only sensible choice.
When you consider the i7's are considerably faster (and more expensive) than the Core2 architecture I would imagine that the new PhenomII's are no competition at all, that isn't to say that in 6 months they wont unlock the potential which the phenomII's should have on paper.
