Hi, I just have a few questions. I just got FSX for a Christmas present, and my computer is not taking it well. Here are my specs:
Pentium4 630 (P) HT 3.0 GHz
Memory Installed 512 MB (2 x 256)
Maximum allowed 4 GB* (4 x 1 GB)
So, is there a way I can get FSX to run at least better than it is please?

Uhhh, where would I find my video card on the computer? And FPS: horrible (I don't remember). I can get 2004 at highest settings, but I deleted it for room for the FSX.

you need at least a dual core or quad core to even think about running fsx. fsx is a machine killer.

Is your card built in to your computer? If so, I recommend getting a decent card, because from the specs that you posted, it looks like it could handle FSX pretty well.

Brice,
512 mb of ram will definitely make FSX look like a slide show. I would recommend upgrading to at least 2 gb of ram. Also, make sure you patch FSX to SP2.

The ram will help your PC and FSX run much more efficiently. SP2 is Service Pack 2 for FSX which fixes some of the bugs and also helps performance. It is available from http://www.fsinsider.com/

A Pentium IV with 512MB and integrated graphics is a lost cause for FSX. I'd save my money to upgrade to a Core2 with a dedicated video card and 4GB of RAM.
Cheers!

Oh, I misread your specs. I understood that you had 4GB of RAM..I have 1.5GB and sometimes I still get under 2FPS in busy airports at night. Definitely consider more RAM and a good card. I have the Nvidia GeForce 9600GT, and for a reasonable price it handles FSX pretty well. The main things for good performance are processor speed (3.00GHz is pretty good), RAM and a good card. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong...
