My other post was timely...I just flew KABE to KATL....after 90 minutes of flying I land, clear the active, and begin my taxi. Halfway to the gate, I get an "Out of Memory" error and FSX goes POOF.
I had this problem earlier, and increased my virtual memory to 3072K (I'm running XP Pro 32 bit w/4gigs ram). Everything was fine until this flight. Please note that I had installed Ultimate Terrain X and Ground Environment X earlier today, if that is relevant. Before the flight, I had shut down everything I could, but was running FSINN, ACARS, Servinfo, and Firefox. Unfortunately, I wasn't tracking memory usage on Task Manager. I was running night textures too.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated....thx.

building an i7 on XP64 right now, Fly tampa products have an issue writing to the scenery.CFG file , but can be manually activated in the scenery Library, Most of the developers have written the installers to be Uni Lateral for auto install, Blue Print Simu has not. One thing about a 64bit OS with 32 Bit programs, they become emulated through the WOW folder. making them capable of running on a 64 bit OS.
Win7 will be the remake of Vista, Remember ME then XP You will be fine on a 32 bit OS, I find with the newer addons out there, Its best to take non essential programs away from the main box, IE ACARS Active sky servinfo and such and run them Wide FS on a laptop, or secondary machine. It Save you some system memory for Products like the PMDG which can be mem intensive add ons, even with the switch in place I still get a OOM with the MD11 on a 8hr plus flight, with everything running on one box, take away a few resources, and problem solved.
