I love flying with vc and thus so far I've been flying the FSx CRJ 700 default instead of the fleet CRJ's. I know this has been an issue of many who wish that the DVA fleet had vc also. I don't really want to use payware and I'm not confident enough yet to mess with FSX files. I have read how to do it, but I am still not willing to try. I did read on a thread that someone suggested that they simply exchange a FS default panel with the panel of the fleet CRJ 200. I am wondering, though, are the default CRJ 700 in FSX compatible with the Fleet CRJ 200? Also, in real world, are there that many differences in the panels of the two CRJ planes or, for that matter, any of the CRJ fleet.

The panels are just the 2D cockpits, I believe that the Virtual cockpit is embedded in the 3d model of the aircraft and to take a VC from one aircraft to another would be a monumental task.

Hey Mel.. I found a panel fix for the CRJ-200, 700 and 900.. You can use this panel for all three and it will allow you to see your guages in the VC.. It's pretty straight forward on how to install it.. You can find this file on AVSIM.. Just do an FSX search and search for this file.. ( poskyrjvcfsx.zip )
Feel free to shoot me an email if you don't think you understand how to put it in and I'll help walk you through it.. It will only work for the DVR-CRJ-Fleet because it's made for Project open sky CRJ's and that's what ours are.
Hope this helps..
Cheers..

YUCK, I tried that, and the gauges are all kinda misaligned, besides that the cockpit
has some really ugly fuzzy textures anyway. To each his own I suppose
What I did isn't free but its much nicer, buy Friend Panels, it replaces the default
CRJ700 gauges AND they do a nice job in the VC. With some careful editing it
should be possible to put their stuff into the Posky but since Panel Studio doesn't
seem to work with the VC it would be painful.

Sorry guys but, when someone post something like that, I just assume they are like me and can't afford to purchace "payware" for the sim.. lol. I am going to look into buying a CRJ tho I think. That panel fix only makes it so you can see the guages in the virtual but nothing is "clickable" in the VC.. It at least makes it tolerable, once you've reached a point where you don't have to mess with controls so much, you can go to VC but have to keep switching between the two to make adjustments etc.. It's better than a blank VC I guess..

Angelo, the Sky Decks does look nice, but it says its for FS9, do you use it, I'm wondering if
it would work on FSX, and does this work on the Posky or just the default? I would love to
see the VC in the Posky be useable on FSX since the Wilco CRJ200 still gives me problems.

I was thinking about getting the Wilco CRJ package but if you're having problems with it in the VC then I think I'll hold off and see what else is available.. Long ago before I ever even considered being a "virutal pilot" with an online airline, I ordered the "captain sim" boeing 727 package and WOW..!! I could'nt even start the darn thing.. I mean it was so realistic that you would have to be an actual 727 pilot to be able to figure out the cockpit.. So I want to be able to fly a nice aircraft in DVA but I don't want it to be so complicated that it takes all the fun out of it at the same time.. I don't mind using the default CRJ-700 but I also want to fly the 900 more to get used to bigger jets and there is'nt a default 900.. That's why I'm looking into a payware plane..

I tired what Dale suggested, but it still didn't work. I'm pretty sure I followed the instructions correctly. I will try again soon. I guess I'll have to go the payware route. I can afford it, but I was hoping to find something for free. Maybe DVA will be able to get VC in the near future. I plan on flying online this weekend for the first time. I'm still a little nervous, but I feel it's time for me to go for it. Infact, I plan on buying a headset tommorrow. Thanks!

Yeah Mel.. I did just that very thing. I just ordered the wilco CRJ.. I ordered the CD version because you get extra stuff with it that you won't get and can't get later if you buy the download version.. I only paid 29 bucks for it at the wilco site.. I noticed it on another site, I can't remember which one it was and they wanted to charge almost 50 bucks for it or something like that.. So if you decide to get the wilco crj be sure you order it right from Wilco Pub so you don't pay more than you have to for it..
Cheers..

Just as a word of caution: Merging any panel (Sky Decks or FeelThere) with the POSKY CRJ7 model is going to lead to some problems you'll have to work around; Unfortunately, it's not like other FS9 models where you can just copy over the folders and go.
I'm in the process of trying to make it work, but have found that the two are not compatible without some serious tweaking. I did a test flight with a POSKY Comair CRJ7 merged with the FeelThere/Wilco CRJ7 panel and have the visual and throttle control kinks worked out, but still need to tweak the performance and test some more. POSKY makes it clear that they "do not support 3rd party merges" and will lock every thread in their forms where it is discussed, but from what I've seen, it *should* be possible to get it to work -- though it may not be 100% accurate performance-wise. I'll report back once I've done a little more testing, but if anyone else has done this merge before, please let me know if you had any luck.
