This has happened to me a few times now. As soon as I rotate and get positive rate the aircraft will violently roll to one side. I have been able to correct it each time, but I need full TOGA power and alot of rudder input in the opposite direction. Is this wake turbulence? I am using ASA which does model wake turb. The last time this occurred (about 10 mins ago) I took off in an E170 directly after an AirTran 717. Anyone else experience this?

Look at the wind. Also, a 717 shouldn't give you that much wake turb. This may be something else though.

Some aircraft have a fault in them where they bank sharply after hitting a certain speed or altitude. Did all these cases of problems have anything in common? Or was there a particular altitude or speed that caused it for one particular aircraft?

It sounds to me like a flight control is set to go off randomly and too hard. You should check your assignments first thing.

Check your wind if its at or more than 10 you'll have this kind of problem. I faced the same problem many times.

Thanks for the input everyone!
I checked the winds and there was no major crosswind to speak of. Def nothing to make my plane act like it got swatted by a giant hand.
Alexander: I wish. I had this happen with 3 diff aircraft (wilco 737, Level-D 767, Wilco E-170) at 3 diff airports. I can't think of anything common except that it happened right after rotation.
Mark: Your suggestion is interesting. I did not change any of my control assignments and they look the same to me. Can flight controls randomly activate/change assignments? I don't have failures on in FSX and this was not a failure caused by FSPax or it would have said something in the after flight report. Like Is aid, this is an intermittent issue, but I'd love to know why its happening.

Might be a faulty joystick/yoke. The rudder on my joystick is glitchy and sometimes give erroneous commands, causing the aircraft to yaw violently and sometimes lose control during taxi when it overrides the tiller.

I have had wake turbulence while taking off in a 747 just behind a Dash-8...not realistic, but I think FS only sees it as a plane and not what size it is. As far as rolling hard to one side, any time I have had that happen it usually because the throttles aren't sychronized. Couldn't tell you how they had become unsychronized but sometimes it happens.
