Hey guys, I just ordered the Saitek yoke + throttle quadrant and I was wondering how you guys set yours up? For example the Saitek Software, FSUIPC, Or just in FS?
Also what do you have your guys buttons assigned to, also your other throttle sticks?

I've only set mine up in FS but also be aware that there's a problem with setting a button on the yoke or quadrant for the "gear" raise and lower.. If you try to assign a button on there your gear will have a mind of it's own and raise and lower at will.. You need to keep that assigned to "G" on the keyboard.. Otherwize it's just whatever you're comfortable with doing.. I love mine.. Made the flying experience all the more enjoyable but be ready to be a little sloppy at first cuz it's way different than flying with a joystick..
Cheers..

I had mine for a little over a year and just sent it back for a replacement. I used FSUIPC to program the two other levers for gear/flaps. But that was a while ago and I cant remember how to set up FSUIPC. Sorry I cant be much of help. Dale, if your yoke is randomly switching views, giving undesired actions (gear lower/raise when not told to) then you actually might have a problem with your yoke, as many of Saiteks customers have had. Houston, is this you first yoke?

Yes this will be my first yoke. Right now all I have is a Logitech Attatck 3 and I am unsatisfied.
If I buy it from buy.com do you think it wont have the random button problem?

The yoke problem seems to be fixed in all the newly-produced ones, so you should be set.
And hang on to that Attack 3. It's incredible for Airbus flying.

Like Alexander said, Saitek claims they have pulled all of the defected ones off the shelfs so you should be good to go! You will like the yoke, I do! I have 2 of the same exact joysticks you do! Going from those to a yoke is a very nice upgrade!

Love my Saitek yoke!
Though I will admit it does get in the way when I play other non-flying games. (Curse me, I know.)

I just bought FSUIPC and I believe this is the way to go. Look at my post for FSUIPC and there is a couple of guys that put in some good links on manuals.

The best part about registered FSUIPC w/ joystick axis is the ability to program slopes, to me it just makes handling large aircraft easier and more realistic. For those that don't know, setting the slope on the aileron / elevator axis for example, will reduce joystick input at the lower range, even it out in the middle and increase joystick input at the maximum range. This allows fine control inputs to fly very precise flight director / ILS directions without over correction (which I've always found easy to do in MSFS). I haven't figured out a way to program a "slope" with basic FS joystick setup.
Just my .02 cents.

I figured it out by trial and error, I was curious one day what slopes did. I could come up with some directions though.

Im not sure If I want to spend another $30 dollars on FSUIPC after buying the Saitek Yoke+TQ.. I will try out the Saitek software first...
But, what do use A1,A2,B1,B2,etc and the TQ levers for?

Yeah Glen, I got mine some time back when they pretty much all had the defect.. I researched those CH yokes and rudders and decided that the saitek was better built etc. but ended up getting one with the messed up gear thing.. Everything else works great on it tho and I love it.. When I got mine it was hit and miss on getting one that was defective.. I think they're probably all ok now tho.. That was like two years ago..
Cheers..

I used the install CD when i got mine and the result was a non functional prop axis lever. I had to manually remove about 6 lines from my registry to get it working.

Don't use the supplied software, on my machinee it picked it up right away. I use A1,A2 as trim up and down, C1, C2 as rudder trim, T1,T2 as gear up, gear down, T3,T4 as spoiler arm, spoiler deploy. On the right index finger is a dial that will let you switch modes for more operation.
Love the Saitek fligh setup.

You can use the FS Setup to program your buttons on the Yoke and Throttle. Do not use the supplied software except the USB Driver to make the clock work. FSUIPC is nice but not necessary for basic functions.

I love my Saitek yoke and rudder pedals. Their support is very good. I wanted an extra mounting screw, they sent it at no charge, made for a more secure mounting,[using 2 large screws instead of one]
Also, I plan to go to 2 throttle quads, that will give me 4 throttles. Saitek sent extra black knobs, and a long throttle bar that fits over the 3 levers, feels like 4 throttles right now.
Cheers,
Jerry
