Hey Everyone. So I have been away from flying for a while because of college and now that I'm on summer break I'm looking to get back into things. While I was away my parents throughout my old FS computer. I'm not sorry to see it go. It was outdated and very slow. I have a nice macbook pro that I use for my stuff in college and recently I installed FSX and FS9 on it and took the default planes for a test drive. Things look really good. Great frame rates, snappy response from the computer no lag... Only problem is that for some reason the laptop heats up incredibly when using FS. It gets so hot that I'm afraid the thing might blow its top. The fans go into overdrive mode and work fevershly and the temp only goes down after I close FS. Computer is a macbook pro 15 inch unibody running windows xp sp3 under bootcamp. Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Don't have it on your lap.........
Put it on a hard standing like a desk, that will dissipate the heat faster

Get your hoover and suck all the dust out of the vent. I had a laptop with the same problem. Vacuumed it and used a laptop fan which reduced the heat considerably.

Thanks for your responses. The problem isn't the laptop being clogged, it is something to do with bootcamp I think. It never overheats or goes into overdrive running OS X, even under significant CPU loads.

Nope - your computer is acting just like it should - hot when running Windows programs - especially FSX. I have the MBPro - love it. Spend the 30$ and get yourself the nice under laptop cooling mat (I got a dual fan one), and it really helps out.
