Hey everyone just downloaded MADDAOG 2008... WOW looks awseme... OMG even hard to start the APU!
My question is regarding the 'quality' settings for the panel. What are the optimal settings? I changed them from default to full to write and lost about 30 fps. Also, if I change these settings do I have to restart MSFS?
Thanks
FS9
E8400 dual core
top o'line 256 mb graphic card. Get about 40 fps with all sliders maxed with fleet md-88

I always change my settings in the load manager prior to firing up FS9. If I do make any changes, I always ensure to close out FS9 and restart. On several occasions, I've had to restart my computer because I was losing fonts on the displays. Quirky to say the least.
Keep in mind too, that to save some frames, input your ICAO (home airport) in the load manager and set the distance. I set mine to KATL at 2000nm. This in turn will keep the Maddog from looking at navigation points from all across the world. It does indeed help. Watch your gauge refresh rates also, as this will kill fps quickly.
Bottom line, everyone's system is different, so try testing different settings to see what works best for you.

OK thanks. ON anther note, where is best to get FMS udpates? The one website they state in user manual you have to select individual airports...

When changing the settings you won't need to restart FS, just the Maddog.

Lindsey,
You can get AIRAC updates at navdata.at. Keep in mind, they're not free. I don't have the link handy, but you can poke around and find SID/STARS that are free at another website.
