I currently run FS9 on XP32 and was considering trying Windows 7 RC x64. All of the general feedback for W7 seems to be positive, but I haven't heard of anyone successfully running FS9 with it. I have a 4GB system and wanted to take advantage of all my memory (Right now I think XP32 only recognizes 4 GB minus the 896MB on my video card).
Anyone out there? I guess I can always go back to XP32 if it doesn't work, but that's a LOT of work and less time flying

I've tried it, it works. Seemed a little slower than Vista to me but I did an upgrade as opposed to a clean install of W7.

I tried it on VMWare. Gave me the dreaded blue screen.

A 32 bit program won't work with a 64 bit OS will it?

I'm running FS9 on the Windows 7 32 bit upgrade to Vista, no problems frame rates with all slide bars maxed to the right and also running, Active Sky Advanced, XPax, Delta ACARS, Squawkbox, Ultimate Terrain and Ultimate Traffic are running 100 to 150. I have a 2.66 GHZ dual core processor with 4 gigs of ram

I'm sure the dual cor is one important aspect to the great performance, but it is well known that Windows 7 is what Vista was supposed to be.

it works fine for me on vista 64 bit. it just runs in the x86 (aka 32bit) architecture as opposed to the x64

Michael, what video card do you have? I have a 2.8GHz (dual core) processor with 2GB of RAM and I ain't getting nearly as many frames as that!

I say this while running an old(by todays standards) Dell Inspiron laptop with a P4 1.8 gig processor, the card is a Radeon X300, yeah it is amazing it even runs FS9, but I have logged many hours with this rig.

OK thanks. Right now I have an E8500 Core 2 Duo overclocked to 4.275 GHz/1800MHz FSB, and a GTX260. I get great frames with FS9 on XP32, but the high density clouds STILL drag my frames down.
I am a little scared to "fix something that ain't broke", but I really wanted to see if the x64 OS would make a difference, if nothing else for the additional RAM recognition. Then maybe I could go from 4 GB to 8 GB. Guess I can always go back to XP32 if it doesn't work out.
