1st let me telll you what I am running with fs9 everytime I fly, Ground enviroment and groundenviroment pro, Active sky6.5, Flight enviroment, AIsmooth, Delta ACARS, and most of the time Radar Contact. Now my system is as followes,
HP Pavilion dv9500 Notebook PC
Intel core 2duo CPU T5450 @1.66Hhz 1.67
2.00gb
32bit Operating System
Is there a way I can tweek this to run a bit better? My 1st question is I have Grond envimnt and the pro version as well. Do I need both of these programs or can I chuck the older 1 to the curb.
@nd what does my terrian mesh and all that need to be set at in order to get maximum video out of this PC as well Thanx.

Hmm... By the looks at the specs of the computer, there really isn't a way to improve fps. There is a way to make FS9 use two processors, all you do is go to Task Manager, right click on fs9.exe, and click Set Affinity. Remove a check from CPU 1. Click OK. Redo the same thing, except put the check mark BACK to CPU 1. Both check marks should be checked. FS9 is now running on both cores.

This trick doesn't do anything to increase FS performance. Instead of one core @ 100%, you'll end up with 2 at around 50% each. There's no magical way to make a program that's limited by a single-thread to be magically multi-threaded.
Thank goodness, too, I have a mortgage to pay.
Cheers!

Hey Luke, I have a question regarding cores (sorry it's a bit off topic).
Does FSX automatically recognize multiple cores? I think the limit is two, or three is it?

FSX will use 4 cores by default if you're using Acceleration or SP2, if you're using SP1 then you can insert the "AffinityMask" command into FSX.CFG
[JOBSCHEDULER]
AffinityMask=n
where
n = num of cores scheduled
1 = 1 core 0001
3 = 2 cores 0011
7 = 3 cores 0111
15 = 4 cores 1111
