Okay. I have been wanting to fly really bad. I started up my flight yesterday. While enroute, my pc shuts down completely. No errors, No BSODs, no warning. Really not sure what could be causing this. Does anyone have any ideas?

Are you using a laptop? Make sure that it is getting sufficient cool air to prevent overheating. Your computer may have a killswitch when the computer gets too hot.

Being that this is a heat issue, I probably blow the vents out and such. Is there anything else I should do?? Not real knowledgable, just a "get on and fly" type of guy!

If it is a heat issue and you have a laptop, get one of those laptop stands that have a fan on the backside. If it's a desktop, the airflow inside the case is non-existent, so you might want to add some more fans and make sure that the fans in the back are exhaust and the front fans are intake.

I used to have frequent crashes as well, heat can be an issue.... I recommend putting a new thermal compound on the heat sink, I use Arctic Silver. Also one of my issues was my power supply was not big enough.... I upgraded it and no more problems.
If it is a laptop im clueless haha
Good Luck,
Chad C.

hmm... here's a checklist.
1. Is your thermal paste applied correctly?
2. Is your CPU fan running?
3. Are your computer fans running?
4. Are you exhausting out the back and intaking from the front?
5. Is your CPU going over 60C?
6. Is your graphics card going over 80C?
7. Is anything smelling?
8. Is it still under warranty?
9. Are there any shorts?
That's all I have.

I had two events like this (direct PC shutdown) on previous rigs.
1. PSU reaching max power wattage - PSU replaced with a stronger one, Charly's wallet replaced with a smaller one.
2. CPU fan stop working then CPU automatically shutdowns to prevent overheat - Charly's right hand removed for messing around using a fan tweaking program.
Hope that helps.
