I m looking to improve my laptop as my current one runs on shared video memory which sucks to say the least. Any recommendations of a decent laptop with a fair price tag ive seen alienwares and thought their prices are a bit ridiculous:-(

Why not get a desktop? You can build a desktop yourself for a fraction of a laptop's price...
Laptops are not the best for gaming either.

You have to spend a lot to get a desktop that can run FSX anywhere close to it's full potential.
To get that power in a laptop, double or trebble the cost.
We are talking thousands not hundreds here.
Stick with the desktop idea: cheaper and easier to upgrade.

If you are going to get a laptop, don't expect too much out of it. for example new laptops could run FS9 at decent settings if you get a lower end laptop, but don't expect it to run FSX like a desktop, unless you get the money and get a laptop with a quad core, but if you are going to do stuff that requires a quad-core, then stick with a desktop.

I would like to upgrade my graphics card (currently GeForce 8500T, 256MB). Currently have the following machine:
INTEL QUAD CORE 2 Q6600, 3GB RAM
1) Will this help accelerate FSX frame rates, etc? If not, what would be better?
2) What should I upgrade to and what price am I looking at?
Thanks

Most likely it will, Robert, but it depends on what you update it to.
