I just started getting BSOD's for some reason, and I'm not sure why. I havent been messing with any settings at all, and I even thought it may have been my graphics card so I took it out and replaced it with my 9600GT and it just gave me the error again. Yesterday when this happened to me I recieved a Bad_Pool_Header BSOD whatever that means...
Im running winodws XP Pro 32bit and I have all the updates from windows update

EVGA GeForce 9600 GT 1GB PCIe w/Dual Link DVI
4 GB of PNY 1024MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz Memory
Hitachi 500GB Serial ATA HD 7200/16MB/SATA-3G
Xilence XP600 600-Watt Gaming Edition - ATX, 135mm Fan, SLI-Ready, CrossFire Ready, SATA-Ready

Steve, check your hard drive. I started getting those on my Compaq when the Hard Drive fractured.

I read on this, and what I found is that it could be the Hard Drive, memory or drivers. Have you ran any windows updates, or new drivers?

Can you start it in safe mode? And if you can, try system restore to an earlier time...if that works maybe it'll save you having to really dig for money

What is the make and model number of your motherboard. This I have read is a problem with the Nforce4 chipset.

Try uninstalling the nvidia network access manager. It is under your add / remove programs if this is a motherboard running an nvidia chipset. These seems to be happening a lot when you start to use your network / internet heavily and the network access manager will screw something up and cause this blue screen

I can still gain access to my computer for more than say 30 minutes or so, but its random when i get the BSOD...although all the times i did get it were when i was flying and on SB/FSINN. So should i uninstall the nvidia network access manager and reinstall it? and what should i do with nvtcp.sys?

uninstall the NAM and just leave it uninstalled. You do not need it for your computer to operate so its no big deal. The NAM is apart of that sys, so your BSOD should go away with the removal of that software hopefully.

Yes you should be able to, all the software does it manage your network connection to try to make it optimal. It really doesn't make a difference

I would almost bet that you have a bad memory stick, that is when I get the majority of my BSOD's. I would try running Memtest from http://www.memtest.org/ also check to make sure that your CPU is not overheating. I doubt it is drivers because you are not getting the BSOD immediately, it is after a while, like when your memory is getting taxed or CPU is getting stretched.

Ya, that could also be the issue, although i dont think its the overheating since my temp is at around 97 degrees F at idle, and around 118 in the game. which is fairly normal i would say. ill try the mem test though.

In reference to what Jeremy said, doing a quick google search I found multiple forums of people having that same problem and this is why I put the solution I did. Yes RAM does play a lot of errors in blue screens, but you usually don't get *.sys files listed on blue screens due to bad RAM. And the error that I think what it might be is due to high network usage such as vatsim, downloading items and the like. That why it sounds like it happens at randoms times like a memory error would, but the test wouldn't hurt.
