DVA4191 KATL - TJSJ
I was just checking over the FMC at 33000ft not long off the coast of floida. When out of nowhere "TRAFFIC ALERT, DESEND"
I looked up to see a big red square on the TCAS screen. A quick check out of the side window shows me an AI Canadair Regional Jet 4.9 miles away and closing fast.
A few seconds to think and then i change alt height to FL320 deselect VNAV and then select ALT HOLD and VERT SPD to -2000.
A few seconds later the jet wizzes overhead at 0.4 miles range.
Afterwards it occurred to me firstly what a brilliant system TCAS is and how it helps to prevent terrible mid air disasters and secondly how good Level D have managed to simulate it.
All in all a new and very satisfying flight sim experience

I had to turn the knob to TA ONLY because I was in formation for landing with a 737 for landing at KATL. Yes, the TCAS is wonderful.

As Ryan said. It's the smaller white know that has the STBY TA ONLY and TA/RA option. If I'm not mistaken.
