Hello guys. With Windows 7 comming out soon, I'm considering using it on the computer I'm going to buy.
I would like to know if it is compatible with the FS stuff I will be using.
Some people have had lots of problems with Vista 64 and some add-ons for Fs (namely FSX). Will this problem be present for W7 64 bit?
And will any hardware I have be compatible?
Thanks!

If it is a new computer, then you shouldn't have any problems with hardware and such. FS should run fine on it, unless it has issues with 64-bit software, and you new machine should come with a free upgrade. If you want to be safe, get Vista Ultimate so that you can get Windows 7 Ultimate, then you can run Virtual PC in windows 7. Virtual PC only works for windows 7 ultimate, and all of the upgrade programs will only let you upgrade to the same version of windows 7. So Home Premium Vista will upgrade to Windows 7 home premium, and so on,

Do you think that things like the Wilco Airbus and Tiltrotor would work with W7 64?
They aren't supported for Vista 64, however they do work without problems for them.

It should work fine, I run on Visa Home Premium 64-Bit. No problems at all.
At the moment I am downloading Windows 7 RC as well.
But it is 3.08GB!
I need to find an .iso imaging tool as well.

I'm running FS9 and FSX on a Win7 machine with no issues. I moved from Vista 64-bit to Win7 32-bit. Runs great! Keep in mind that Win7 32-bit supports a full 4gb of RAM. Unless you plan to run more than that, there's no sense to even use the 64-bit version.

I was planning on 6 to run FSX, do you think 4 would be enough?

I'll be buying more RAM since Vista is a resource hog.
I currently have 4GB's but I can buy 4 more for about $50.

How would I go by keeping Vista and installing Windows 7 on one HDD?
I want to have 2 OS's. Would it cause problems when Defragmenting?
