Just a quick question, as I am currently in the process of getting the Md11 rating I can't see what the A320 program is like. (I intend on transfering into it). I was just wondering if there is ever a plan to make the A330 a seconadary A/C as I fly both often. They are both very similar the only difference would be the size fuel burn etc.

Are you talking about making the A330 a secondary A/C in the MD-11 program, or the A320 program? If you're talking about the A320 program I'm pretty sure it won't happen because I think it's considered a stage 3 A/C, while the A330 is stage 4.

I believe that the A330 shold really be an additional rating in the A320 programme.
Though it's size more compairs with the 777, real A320 pilots are cross-rated in both the A320, A330, and A340 families.

Does anyone have an opinion on any of the payware 320's for FSX? I see that Wilco has one, and there is one that is supposed to be coming out from a company called AirSimmer that looks pretty cool.

Alexander, pilots who fly the A320 are NOT type rated in either the A330 or A340. However, they do share flight deck comonality which alows the pilots qualified in one to easily transfer to the other two with minimal retraining. Mainly in regard to handeling charecteristics, engine performance that type of thing. At least thats the way I understand what is ment by Airbus when they say that a pilot in one can easily transfer to another. Its not as big a learning curve between say, a 737 and a 777. One last note, the A330 is also a secondary a/c in the 767 program in addition to the 777 program.

It's my understanding that if you are qualified on either the A330 or A340, you can fly the other after completing a transition course. Kind of along the same lines as the 757 and 767.

You still have to complete a "differences" training course William which is what Kevin was referring to by the short Transition course, I don't know how long it is with the 757/767 but with the A330/A340 it was something like 1-3 days (Don't quite remember).
