Stuart, as someone who has recently converted to running without stuff like Spybot Search and Destroy and AVG, I can attest to there being something there that is just not right. When all was said and done after my rebuild (formatted the drives and reinstalled from scratch), my machine runs faster, more stable, and uses less memory than before. I installed at least 15 of the Fleet packages consecutively, while running WinAmp and Firefox, then started FS without a restart and it was up fast. Never would have happened before. As I've read on here a few times before, sometimes the cure is worse than the disease.
