Computer Dual Core Acer Aspire L5100 small book size desktop: ATI chip on motherboard Radeon X1250...3 GB of ram...
When attempting to install this program from the boxed DVD I have the following problem...I go through the introductory, choose FS9 version, OK the license agreement, and when I point the install to the correct location c:\program files\microsoft games\flight simulator 9 Hit the NEXT button to start the install, the BLUE splash screen appears for about .5 seconds and nothing happens...By the way, I am using Windows Vista home edition 32bit...Normally the splash screen should appear and files start installing...I have tried the "fix" patch that "Just Flight" has published on the "just flight" website in the troubleshooting B757 Captain section, but that didn't help...
One funny thing, if I switch users to "GUEST" the install will take place correctly as it should, but when I access Flight Simulator 9 as a guest, the Captain Sim in the Aircraft Manufacture box appears, the plane will load, however, the FMS doesn't work, the IRS alignment doesn't work and several instruments on the flight deck do not appear, so something must not be right concerning addressing the Gauge files for the instruments...
When I change user from Guest to the normal user "BoB" then Captain Sim IS NOT in the Aircraft Manufacture box on the opening of Flight simulator 9 page
I know this company like many other companies protect their software with "safedisc" I have turned off all software that would interfere with the installation...
I don't understand even where to begin looking in files and etc to see why the splash screen appears for .5 seconds and disappears...What is causing this to happen...Maybe a computer guru can give me some ideas as to where to start troubleshooting.
