I was just wondering if it is hard on my computer (64bit vista) to run fsx for periods of time up to 15 hrs? I just don't want to hurt my only computer thats able to run FSX.

Well, have you done it? DId anything happen? The only thing I could think of would be related to heating and maybe if you have the actual FSX screen showing (rather then minimized) while you are sleeping - and I say that assuming that you are or want to do long hauls, if you minimize the FS screen whem you leave, the Comp doesn't have to render the graphics all night (flight's still going)...little trick

It'll be fine. I have started very long flights before and have left the computer on all night unattended. Won't hurt the computer at all.

As long as your running a computer with reccomended settings, if your running with minimum, then chances are you are stressing the machine.

As long as your system is properly cooled, running it for hours or even days on end will not cause any additional harm. The first symptom of a heat issue is instability. If you PC is running smooth, you normally do not have a heat concern.

I must ask why you would want to have your computer flying FSX all night while you sleep? That is not flying.

I always have a flight running wile I am home, just be sure to have adequate cooling and I don't see any problems. I do it all the time, in fact most of the time my computer is on.
