A few question about windows 7. I would like to upgrade but am unsure
Right now i am on Vista 32-bit
1. Do you like it
2. When or if i upgrade would i have to start from scratch having to reinstall everything. I have everything backed up on another hard drive.
3. Is it really faster.
4. How does it help/hurt FSX
5. Are there alot of bugs right now. Like should i wait till spring to upgrade???
6. What version should i get.
I would have someone install it for me so dont worry about it being to hard for me.

I've been using W7 since the beta.
1 - Yes I like it, WAY better than Vista
2 - I would start from scratch and avoid an upgrade - but that's not based on a bad experience, just might as well take the opportunity to start fresh
3 - For me, it's noticably faster
4 - Less OS overhead + greater OS stability = faster / stable FSX (IMHO)
5 - I don't know of any bugs except somewhat troublesome network drivers
6 - I've been using Ultimate and haven't studied the other versions so I have no opinion
Gurmeet, not sure what they could "fix" with SP1, maybe deliver new features but I haven't found anything to be broken. That being said, you might wait a few months until more and more hardware vendors provide improved W7 hardware drivers. As I said, hardware drivers have been my only complaint but this isn't something a service pack will fix.

It uses DX11, im currently using the beta copy too (ultimate). I dont remember the difference in fps but i know i couldnt run fsx on vista, but since W7 i do, with reasonable fps. W7 is perfect and stable, i think u should go for it right away.

1. Yes
2. You could upgrade (if your on Vista), but I would recommend a clean install
3. No not really
4. Not to much. If anything helps it just a tad
5. No. I've been using it since build 68XX and haven't seen a problem
6. I always get Ultimate, but any version will work. You can see a list on MS' website of the different features that they each have.

Mark, I upgraded from Vista on Friday night and cannot believe the difference. I was one of those people who had been using Vista since it came out and never had any issues with it. I was a little hesitant about making the switch to W7 but did it anyway. I chose to download the upgrade from the Microsoft website and it took about 3 hours for the upgrade to complete. When it was finished, I had everything right where it was suppose to be with all the drivers installed etc. Could not have gone any smoother. The only thing you need to make sure of doing is go from 32bit to 32bit or 64bit to 64bit. Good luck with it. And yes my computer i a lot smoother and my framerates about 10% higher.
