How can I get traffic form real airlines such as delta airlines in my simulator without beaing online. Basicly traffic that flys around the simulator as I do my flights. And where can I get these file(s).
Thanks

Well you have some payware like Traffic X or Traffic Expansion, but I am still trying to get those, other than those thats all I know, I am still trying to get traffic for my FSX too.

Hendrik, don't listen to Brandon.
There is a freeware traffic program called World of AI. It's free, very easy to use, and frame rate friendly. Andrew Kaufmann has a great tutorial for it, hopefully he'll respond here with the link to that.

Hendrik, let me know if you have issues downloading. Also, save yourself some pain, and make a folder on your desktop and label it WOAI - and put everything into and run all the load programs out of that folder.

Andrew--I installed a few airline packages (Delta AAL, USAir). Now...how does it "work"? I set my traffic to 100% but don't see anything at KATL yet.

In FSX, make sure you turn off aircraft shadows... I read this somewhere when I tried to have my WOAI traffic visible. Works great with Radar Contact 4.3
Also, there exists a torrent of most if not all WOAI packages on the Pirate Bay, however I do not know the direct link. You have to search at the site. (do not worry, WOAI is freeware). It includes the installer and the most recent schedules. Make sure you select all packages (you can leave those in .zip) when opening a package for install to prevent selecting them one at a time. Good luck

Did you install the complete packages ? or just the flightplans ?
When installing , do you use the WOAI installer ?
If so, in which mode do you use it ? Manual or Automatic installation ?
And finally - did you de-compile and recompile the plans with TTools?

I installed the complete packages to make sure you have the appropriate models. I used just the installer in automatic mode. I didn't use TTools because there was no reason to. After deselecting aircraft shadows all traffic appeared perfectly. Good luck.

um, huh? I did use the WOAI installer in Auto mode. I just picked the package that I downloaded (Delta). Didn't know that you could specify flightplans...and didn't see that option anywhere.
What is TTools?
Another question--what Traffic setting do you use in FSX after doing the WOAI install?

I do not know exactly what TTools does, but it helps you configure AI traffic. Indeed there is no option for flightplans. I am not thoroughly into WOAI software, but I believe that flightplans (in the sense of airline schedules) are included. That is, I often see Air France aircraft departing on the same schedule as I fly it. In FSX you can slide the IFR traffic intensity to your liking. More traffic means more congested airports and potential jams on approach. Also it can supress your frame rate. I use a 100% setting on a medium-speed PC and graphics card. It's also to your preference how to label the traffic.
It's good to have in mind that the WOAI traffic is installed by default in the scenery/world folder. That means that you cannot reset the traffic scenery in FSX, but you need to uninstall or use TTools perhaps. Of course you can delete the WOAI files in the scenery/world folder.

Traffic Tools in simple terms takes the data that WOAI has for airline and flight plan - and adds it as a BGL (the plan) and "tells" your planes where to fly and when. So what happens is that sometimes, it isn't read or not read fully - so you use TTools to decompile (make into a huge pile) and recompile the flight plans within FS so FS knows that there are planes linked to flight plans at certain airports on certain days during certain seasons.
