Switched back from Windows 7 to Windows Vista about 2 weeks ago.
I had to go into the Windows Vista installation CD and attempt to remove the Windows 7 partition.
I wiped the Windows 7 Partition and then clicked on Extend the partitions, because I believed that would cause both partitions to join together each others HDD space.
Now when I go into Auslogics Disk Defrag I have unmovable files! I'm think they are remaining files from the Windows 7 RC.
My hard drive should be 640GB. I normally don't use that much HDD Space and Windows Vista claims the capacity to be 596GB and now my HDD is 1/4 full. It used to be about 1/7 of the way full when I had installed everything. This is getting annoying since I can't defrag those files and I'm wondering if it's causing a slow down in my FS Performance.
What can I do to solve this problem? I did not see unmovable files in the past in either OS.
So do I Re-format my hard drive? I'd prefer that to be my last choice.
Note: The grey blocks are the unmovable files.

If you boot up your Windows Vista DVD/CD you should be able to go in and verify that the WIN7 partition is gone. If it isn't, delete it, then expand your Windows Vista partition to the full size.
If that doesn't work, you might need to reformat/repartition your hard drive.

Okay I just went in to verify and yes it is gone.
Although Vista is still showing the HDD capacity as 596GB which is wrong...
Should I reformat?

I've noticed that the size isn't really accurate. It depends from hard drive to hard drive for me.

The size of the hard drive is the HDD minus the OS (usually). If you didn't repartition the disk correctly on re-install, it very well may be reading as wrong as there are these "hidden/unmovable" files. It may not be a major concern to the functioning of your computer, but if you want all of the hard drive space, a full reinstall/repartition would be needed.

Ok I reinstalled my OS and majority of the unmovable files are gone. There is a little on the disk but I'm guessing they are the system files.
Also not as much as before.

Daniel, i think you are getting a tad too hung up on fs performance and not enjoying the game. the hard drive thing is completely normal. if you think moving a couple of kb of files will give you 1/100th of a fps gain than go to www.dban.org, nuke your disk and start from scratch.
also if you want to delete from a windows environment i use 'eraser' http://eraser.heidi.ie/download.php . not sure if it works in vista or w7, i am an xp user and it works wonders. provides a guttman 32 pass, DoD 7 and 3 pass.
IMO updating an old OS is asking for problems - reverting to an old OS is even worse. i always wipe my hard drive, properly - then install from scratch.

Daniel,
What exactly is the problem with unmovable files ??
If they are together in a nice heap and not scattered around, don't worry too much about them.
There are a thousand other ways to get performance out of your system. Fore details, read "FS Performance Tweaks" on google and this forum.
