During some flights departing from LAX my FS9 just shuts down and whenever I try to run it again using "autosaved" positions it would crash again.
For that reason I've been saving flights but whever it gets close to the position it shutted down the last time it would just shut down FS.
Please help!! I need to do a check ride to LAS soon

Cesar, sounds like a corrupt file somewhere. But before you go and do a reinstall, what O/S are you running? If its Vista, try running FS as administrator. If that doesn't fix it, you've def. got a corrupt file and are prob. going to have to reinstall.

Step 1: Uninstall any add-on scenery. Try and use the MSFS default scenery.
Step 2: Empty your My Documents\Flight Simulator files.
Step 3: If Step 1 and Step 2, does not work try deleting FS9.cfg. It will be recreated again, next time you open MSFS. You can find this file in Documents and Settings\username folder.
Step 4: If none of the above does not work (highly unlikely) reinstall MSFS followed by reformatting, if required. Choose them as a last option, however.

Gurmeet, I had an issue recently and had to delete the FS9.CFG file. While it worked and allowed me to get back into FS9, every single switch, pot, and light in my 757 simpit had to be re-programmed (about 1.5 hours).
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: If your FS install is working fine right now, then make a backup of that FS9.CFG file!
