But..... unfortunately it's not fitting very well..... so looks like it's time for a new MOBO! The SATA slots for my hard drive and dvd drive are in the way and with a big card like the GeFore GTS 250..... doesn't work out too well. So I'm asking for any suggestions on a new motherboard!

We would first need to know what processor you are using ..... or do you plan on buying a new CPU as well?

Why do you want a new mobo? .... you will not see any performance increase by swapping out a mobo.

That's kind of the idea I'm getting at. Right now I'm thinking of just slowly building my own since I need to upgrade the mobo and the power supply so I might as well keep on going and eventually get a new processor and the rest of the works.

Logan,
I had this issue as well and ended up buying several right-angle SATA cables to allow me access to the ports, even with extra-long cards. Have a look on the link and see if that may solve your problem.

Good luck with your project!
[EDIT: Just noticed that those cables are 150mbs/ SATA-I versions, may need to hunt down the SATA-2 versions]

Do you think they might fix your issue and allow you to regain use of those SATA ports?
