Hello guys. I'm having a little problem.
When I logged on to VATSIM this morning, I filed a flight plan and then waited for it to be amended to a more appropriate STAR. I was switching to a view of another aircraft in the area, and then FSX turned grey and froze up. A conversation between this aircraft and the controller was going on at the time, and it surprized me that the chatter didn't freeze with FSX. I could still hear ATC fine until FSX crashed (Prior to this it was searching for the cause of the fatal error).
I didn't make much of it because obviously there are problems with computers, VATSIM, SB4, and FSX that happen to everybody who uses them. So I started up FS and SB again at the same gate in LAX, appologized to the controller for my dissapearance, then refiled my flight plan. Again, I had to wait about 5 minutes while he was dealing with some other traffic, so until then I once more switched to an external view of an aircraft parked on the ground. Once more, FS turned grey, a fatal error message appeared, and I could still hear ATC fine.
Obviously I considered just not using the "traffic" view, but I think there may be a deeper problem.
I'm running FSX with Acelleration, SB4, and while this problem occured the Wilco A319 (though since I wasn't touching any buttons in the aircraft at the time of the crash, I'm not sure if that was part of the problem). I was running this all under W7 64bit, and FSX was being run as an Administrator.
If it makes a difference, I was at Gate 102 at KLAX.
Thanks for any help you can offer me.
