I've been getting this message once a flight..."display driver nvidia windows kernel mode driver 195.39 stopped responding and has recovered succesfully."The screen turns black, and then it re-appears with the message, like nothing happened. I am running Win7-64 and have the newest updates. My graphics card is a GTX285.

Yea I used to get those errors Jeff. Not sure what exactly causes them though. If thats the newest driver, maybe try rolling back to the older driver version?

Tok, do you think my graphics card is bad? How did you get the problem to subside?

Upgrade BIOS to the latest version and restore it to the default settings; remove all unnecessary hardware devices from the computer, try entering Windows safe mode to test whether it is a third-party software/hardware compatibility issue. If so, download and run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to check the reason for the issue.
If the issue is caused by some incompatible driver, you might go to Device Manager, right click your hardware device in the list and select Update Driver Software; then click Search automatically for updated driver software.

Andy- that is the current driver I have installed. Also, I have no idea how to reset the BIOS, however, I made no changes to it since I built it. I am not overclocking anything, the only change I made was switching the order of the DVD/HDD for startup.

Did you fling through the nVidia forums? I'm at a loss...have you tried switching slots that the card is in (maybe it just needs to be reseated)?

Andy- my MB is the Gigabyte 790XT-UP4D...I only think it has 1 PCI slot...but, when I get home I'll try re-seating the card. Its funny how it ONLY happens with fs9.

One consideration might be to use the older driver; newer isn't always better.
Cheers!

Luke, I have no idea how to roll back to the previous driver. I just built the computer a week ago, so it came with the latest drivers.

Luke: I currently have the 195 from October 30. There is a BETA that was released on Dec. 15. Should I roll back the driver, or should I try the BETA? I will also try re-seating the card when I am home.

I just remembered something, previously, I had the 195 driver installed, and FS ran pretty good. I just installed the 196...so now I'm going back to 195, and hopefully it will solve this problem.
