I set the course and frequency in the pedestal on a verified ILS and although I get lateral navigation, I still fail to get a glideslope. All other functions work perfectly.

I can set the course, but not the freq. it doesn't have the ability. It skips numbers.

Michael, are you reseting your MCP altitude? That will happen if you don't zero out your altitude in the MCP. The plane just pluggs along at the alt you have dialed in. Happend to me a couple of times too.

Hmmm, I think it only happened to me when messing with FSPax at one point, but it
borked up glideslope for all my planes. Was the weirdest thing, I solved it by uninstalling
FSPax.
As Mark suggested, pick an airport, use another plane, make sure you can do a full
ILS there, then try again with the LDS.

You are putting the ILS freq. in the ILS receiver on the pedestal and not the NAV 1/2 receivers on the glareshield right? There is a difference.

You must enter the ILS frequency into the ILS receiver as Matt said. Otherwise, you will not receive a glideslope.

Matt has it, the NAV radios on the dash are just that, NAV radios. For an ILS approach, you must use the receiver on the pedestal below the throttles right next to the transponder.
If it still doesn't work, go into the map on FS and look up the frequency for that approach. If it's different, use what is shown on the map in FS as that is what is "live" in FS.

Does the arrival rwy have a ILS freq? Also, using AFCAD 2.21, you can open up the AF2 file and ensureit has one.

Very sure you are putting the frequency in the wrong place. I did it the first time I flew the plane then quickly discovered my mistake... luckily. Could not figure out why the number kept skipping... haha. That was a big clue something was wrong...

I fly with the LDS767 and have never actually had to manually tuned the ILS. The FMC always does it for me.

Skylar, if you always throw the ILS approach into the FMC, then yes... however, unless the weather is bad, I almost always fly visual approaches with the ILS freq tuned just as a secondary means of guidance. In these cases, you must know how to manually input it.

I found that the problem is with the FDC Live interface. The solution is on their website. It is involved, but it did fix the problem. Thanks to you all!

Not sure if it was mentioned before, but you might also try going to the NAV RAD page and manually entering the freq and crs into the FMC with the MCP freq. window set to auto. It'll be tuned for you without having to dial anything in IIRC.

I will post a copy to the link when I get home tonight. It is at the FDC website. The descriptions are very thorough. Just make sure you have FDC updated to the latest version and that you have your LDS updated. When you read the instructions, make sure you skip to the version you have, otherwise, you will be making changes that won't help. It won't hurt, it will just waste your time.
I found the link... http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk/fdc_live_cockpit.htm
